HOW CAN YOU HELP? COVID-19 RESOURCES
At Denver Serve our hearts go out to all who have been impacted by COVID-19. While we can’t physically volunteer right now for the safety of ourselves and our community, we are still striving to empower and support the Denver community as best as we can. Below you will find links to local organizations that we believe need our help right now more than ever. If you feel called to give, monetary donations are a great way to support their efforts during this time of uncertainty. We appreciate you and want to thank you for helping our community heal and look forward to serving again with you soon.
Food Banks + Meal Services:
Layoffs in our community have started and this has increased food insecurity among children and families in the Metro area. We’re getting calls from nonparticipating school administrators who are finding out about us from their peers and requesting food. $100,000 will help us support 3,000 families over an 8 week period. Critical service providers, such as Food Bank of the Rockies are exempt from these orders as these services are needed now, more than ever before. Click the link below to learn how to help!
Kitchen One for One is a non-profit food truck that raises money through donations to serve amazing street tacos feeding the homeless and impoverished members of our Denver community.
We know that this is a challenging time for many people, but it's also a time where people are coming together to support their communities and We Don't Waste is here to help. Are you a restaurant or caterer who wants to donate food? Do you need food? Click the link below.
We depend on people like you to help deliver meals to those who really need and appreciate you help. Meals on Wheels delivery routes are available Monday-Saturday throughout the Denver metro area.
Project Angel Heart needs your help to get shelf-stable meals to their clients. Click the link below to learn how to help.
Joy's Kitchen is here to help the elders and hungry, and are committed to getting any food we can gather to you. They are offering a drive-through pantry at Westwoods Community Church.
Donate Blood:
Blood supplies in Colorado are critically low. We strongly urge healthy, eligible people to give blood or platelets so patients have the lifesaving blood they need to survive. Donating blood is safe and blood centers are not considered gatherings.
Donate masks + supplies to healthcare workers:
PPE is a group of scientists and engineers contacting labs around the United States with surplus supplies of personal protective equipment to donate to hospitals in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mask Match is a peer-to-peer platform helping people with spare N95 and surgical masks send them directly to healthcare workers on the front lines who need them.
Homeless Shelters:
There’s a lot of uncertainty right now, making our daily lives feel scary and discomforting. But, within this uncertainty there’s one thing we know as a Mission family and community―we’re all in this together.
Founded in 1988, Urban Peak is the only non-profit organization in Denver that provides a full convergence of services for youth ages 15 through 24 experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Our goal is to help these youth overcome real life challenges and become self-sufficient adults.
Your financial gift, regardless of the amount, will enable St. Francis Center to continue to provide vital resources to those in our community who are homeless, leading to personal transformation and ultimately to self-sufficiency.
Support children + Families facing adversity:
We are relentlessly focused on kids and families at this time. Thank you for your patience as we continue to prioritize their well-being and safety above all else. Out of an abundance of caution, we are limiting access to our campus, but there is still ways to help!
Provide a family with the supplies necessary to meet physical, educational, spiritual, and health needs by sponsoring a Hope Box! You can sponsor as many families as you’d like to help us bring HOPE to our city.
Your donation helps to inspire & empower aging out teens by giving them an opportunity to dream about their future.
Due to the restrictions put in place, a lot of our resources are not available to us right now. Food banks, counseling services and employers cutting back are having major impacts on our program. We are in need of financial resources more than ever. Covered is dedicated to helping bring hope, community and basic necessities to this amazing group of people. Please consider donating now so that we can continue this life saving work. Every little bit helps!
